Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been won on hard courts
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his maiden trophy for nearly 30 months with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the competition championship match.
The athlete, a ex- number one, has experienced a torrid period, managing just one match at the Grand Slams and suffering a difficult moment at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his service game in particular - caused him exiting of the top ten and eventually parting ways with long-time mentor his previous coach.
Now collaborating with his coach and Goetzke, he has consistently improved in the recent weeks - peaking in a tightly fought three-set triumph over Frenchman Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's first championship after the Rome competition and maiden on a hard surface from that period of 2023.
The win also means Medvedev has secured twenty-one titles at 21 distinct events.
"It's the first time I am participating in a competition with my both daughters simultaneously, so to secure a trophy is really nice," commented ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in tribute of my second daughter her name, because the maiden victory I got when my child Alisa was born was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had lost his previous six championship matches, featuring in Halle earlier this year.
Medvedev's defensive approach and frequent emotional displays on the tennis court had caused observers to question if his skill to perform at the top level was concluded.
But the athlete has made changes in the last few weeks, attempting to approach the net and compete aggressively, reinforced by an enhanced service.
The champion recovered from a deficit in the first set against the challenging opponent, taking 4 of the last five points to take the lead.
Both players traded break points in the middle set before the Frenchman, striving for his maiden ATP Tour victory, seized the initiative to create a third set.
Moutet defended 4 early-game break points in a close final set before the Russian broke to fifteen to secure the win.
Suitably, Medvedev clinched victory with a point at the front of the court, with his opponent unable to manage a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
