It's a challenge for Australia to set fresh records.

The top summits have already been conquered.

We're talking about the team that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, along with another six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed over three years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, targeted by the peak baggers, are what's still available for a team that has won it all.

The fact it required as late as Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase exceeding 300, taking back their record for the highest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, in truth, a tribute to the bowlers that have worn canary yellow over five decades.

It is hard for their batters to possess a record if not afforded the chance.

Ultimately, the consequence of Australia allowing 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy getting a platform to create her most recent brilliance.

Initially recognized as the 19-year-old niece of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after her nation failed to win either of the T20 or ODI World Cups held the previous year and has seen it all through 15 championship-filled years since.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the championship match and was awarded tournament MVP. She made sure her country would not fall short again.

Whether this latest epic knock surpassed that earlier display can be debated.

Some will argue the argument supporting final game tension. Different voices suggest with the challenge that comes when facing a record target and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's clear is this century was much more difficult to anticipate.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 came as she topped the run-scoring charts, but this knock followed six innings in India over the past few weeks in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've observed me in training, it's been a frustrating experience because it seemed I've had no rhythm completely," stated Healy.

"Yet the moment you enter the playing area, your competitive nature take over and you just lock into the contest."

Healy's fighting spirit has consistently been her great strength - and an invaluable trait in succeeding famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, fallen to the young fast bowler in every game, but this time it merely gave Healy's motivation.

One run resulted off the opening delivery and from there the batsman was on her way.

"The possibility to play and lock in a contest with her and simply enjoy myself that way, sort of got me going," stated Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 pitches - her swiftest at a World Cup - and her century in 84 as she punished short deliveries, striking 21 boundaries and three maximums.

By the time she was removed the team required another 66 at a run-a-ball - an achievable target now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Chasing 330 runs is unfamiliar ground so I'm pleased we have the confidence to achieve that now," continued Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it another time but, if we do, we believe we can do it."

These statements will be the last rival teams at this tournament need to hear.

During the last week a belief they will win from any position has become more firm - this victory coming after success over Pakistan by 107 runs despite sitting at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before an encounter with longtime competitors England in Indore in ten days, by which point a semi-final berth may likely be confirmed.

During that phase they exited the prior year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a game Healy was absent due to torn tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the first time at an important competition.

So great is her will, she later said she wanted to have participated with the discomfort.

However although she later admitted those fitness problems have pushed back plans to retire, this tournament is anticipated as her last as captain in 50-over cricket and she is yet to win an international tournament as skipper.

Victory in India would take her to the summit of her final mountain.
